Our Honeymoon Trip...
Well, I can honestly say that I'm still feeling the back and forth motion of being on a ship...2 1/2 days after debarking the cruise ship. We had so much fun. Last Saturday Brian's dad picked us up from the airport and then let us use his car. We hit one of the restaurants we wanted to eat at, then went to the hotel, which was a complete s***hole.
Sunday we went to Disneyland, it was hot but we had a good time. Afterwards we went over to Neal and Cathy's for a visit, and also saw Tracy there. It was great seeing everyone again. Later that evening we went to the Block at Orange for dinner, which was about the time I started feeling sick. It figures, on our big trip, I end up with the flu.
Monday we boarded the cruise ship. I was still feeling like crap but was trying my damndest to make the most of it. We took it easy Monday evening, had a nice dinner and just relaxed.
Tuesday the ship docked in San Diego. We didn't get off the ship, I was still really weak, and couldn't keep any food down. We just walked around the ship, played some ping pong for a short while, and napped. One thing I can say...Thank God for Pepto Bismol. We went to the infirmary and got some, and that seemed to be the turning point for me. Dinner went great and I started feeling much better.
Wednesday we were in Catalina Island. It was beautiful. We just walked around and did some shopping, and took pictures. I hope to go back there again someday for a visit, it was very relaxing. Later that afternoon on the ship, my wonderful turd of a husband gets lured into entering the men's belly flop competition on the ship at the pool...which he won. We had to buy the DVD from the cruise to have that moment...it was friggin hilarious. They got to do one jump...then before the second one they made them get on the platform when it was their turn and dance to music. The phrase 'white men can't dance' came to mind each time the guys got up there, except for Brian. All the people around me kept saying he was the best dancer, which was the truth. It was great.
Thursday was spent in Ensenada, Mexico...NOT impressed at all. We took a shuttle into town, and they drop you off about a block from where all the shops are. Problem is, you have to cross a major intersection to get to this area, and they have no stop lights, only stop signs, and if drivers feel like stopping they will. Needless to say, I refused to cross it because I cherish my life too much, so we walked back to the ship and did some shopping at a little marketplace of shops by the ship. I didn't like Ensenada at all, it was dirty and frankly not much of anything to see.
We returned to L.A. Friday morning, then spent some more time with Brian's dad. Later in the afternoon we surprised the kids with a quick visit, they were ecstatic. In the evening we had dinner with Tracy, then went over to Neal and Cathy's to visit and play pool...we had a blast. Yesterday morning we spent some more time with Brian's dad then he took us to the airport. All in all, it was a wonderful trip, we loved the cruise, and can't wait to take another one next year.
It's good to be back home, and I have great memories from an awesome trip with the love of my life.
That's it, in a nutshell...
